Can anyone tell me how to work out how much I'm risking for each pip when trading?
I'm a newbie, and I'm practicing with a demo account. I thought that if I entered 1.0 in the trade window when buying or selling I would be risking £10 per pip (I opened the demo account in GBP).
However, this doesn't seem to be the case.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.
Peter.

Ps - really enjoy reading all the comments on this forum. Also love the Currency Trading, Tornado Trend and Charting CDs my wife bought for me as a present. Thank you John, really helpful advice.

Are you using a spread betting account? Normally 1.0 is £1/pip. 0.5 is 50p/pip.
Hope this helps

Trading VT, 0.1 = £1 if your account is £'s and not $.
If you trade 1.0 you're on £10 a pip
A $ is 50p, so if your account is in $ you can trade for as litle as 50p
